About the name: The system operates in the area near you, connecting you to your environment.
What does NearConn do? Nearconn provides innovative solutions in the emerging field of mobile location based services. Nearconn has developed propriety technology for improving the discovery of location and devices over a range of existing hardware infrastructures.
Nearconn offers integrated services to consumers. Our applications enable locating, interacting and sharing information with nearby friends in social networks as well as focused search of data related to one's current location.
Nearconn technology enables cellular device holders to actively interact with the nearby environment. Our technology is embedded in two applications: NearInfo and NearPeople.
The NearInfo application provides public information that is relevant to the user’s location directly to his or her cell phone.
The NearPeople application is a web/cellular-based social network shared by users in the nearby environment. With our unique devices discovery technology one's friends – in different social networks – are quickly recognized amongst the numerous devices nearby. When, using the scan option on your device, the system searchs for other operational devices in your neighborhood. At the end of a scan, all names/Bluetooth devices that the system displays function as links to their respective social cards, as created by them at the NearConn webpage. Names that are not registered yet will be seen as well in a lower position on your device.
Connecting to others: The system allows you to write a NearNote, save it as a file to your cellphone and deliver it in the same way you deliver a regular item using your bluetooth. The sent message will be delivered to the other person's NearConn inbox mail.
How much it will cost you? IT WILL COST YOU NOTHING!! NearConn, the client software and the portal activity that we offer is free of charge. You should know that you may be charged for web-surfing by your service provider.
O.K? O.K! How would you like to download NearConn to your cellphone? First-of-all - you’ll have to complete your registration. Then you could choose: either get the application with an sms or simply download it by yourself in a few steps.
Once you have registered, created your social card, downloaded the system to your cellphone and switched your bluetooth device on, all of your NearPeople will be able to see your card and the details that you have agreed to share.

What is shown on the main page? The pictures or names on the main page of our site are of NearConn members that lately scanned for their NearPeople, at any places (This use is done by permit). NearConn is a global community and there are members from all over the world.
